Arapahoe High School's chapter of National Honor Society considers for membership juniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and seniors who have a GPA of 3.25 or higher.  In addition to scholarly achievment, applicants must also demonstrate a history of service, leadership, and outstanding charcter.

In the 4/9 meeting, we passed around a sign-up sheet for those of you interested in running for officer positions next year.  If that's something that interests you, please stop by Ms. Gaffney's desk in the Language Arts department to sign up.  You will also need to prepare a speech to give for the 4/23 meeting.  Positions will be chosen by elected officers after the election takes place.

All Club Opportunities:

Special Olympics through South Suburban.  Help out with various sports rec leagues.  Contact Krista D'Innocenzo if you are interested.

Individual Opportunities:

AWARE would like help with recycling.  They meet in C-6 every Thurs. at 2:30.  Recycling usually takes around 45 min.  Contact Logan Jacobson at jazzmetal81@hotmail.com or Michelle Shebowich at mpisces22@msn.com with questions.

We are still looking for volunteers to work with students at Peabody Elementary.  They are especially interested in having a couple of male role models.  Talk to Mr. Sale or contact Ms. Almer, instructional coach at Peabody (kalmer@lps.k12.co.us)

New service opportunity!  Ms. Ratcliffe in the Special Services department is looking for someone who would be willing to tutor another student in Algebra I and Algebra II for an hour or two after school until the end of the semester.  She is also looking for someon who would be willing to tutor someone in Spanish II for 1-2 hours per week both this semester and next.  The student is willing to meet after school and/ or during off hours.  Please contact Ms. Ratcliffe by visiting her in her department or emailing her at kratcliffe@lps.k12.co.us  if you are interested in either of these opportunities.
