New Book:  Ellis, Joseph J.  American Creation: Triumphs and Tragedies at the Founding of the Republic.  Knopf. 2007.  Book review by Dan Danborn, Rocky Mountain News, Nov. 16, 2007, pg. 35:  Ellis sees the founding of the United States not so much as a series of events but as a 28-year period from the start of the War for Independence (1775), which set in motion the political and philosophical machinations that would define our future, to the Louisiana Purchase (1803), which set in place a kind of geographical imperative that would have as much incluence on how we saw ourselves as any other event.
