Pledge Car Wash

This year:  Let’s think of businesses first.  Call or go into any business.  Non-chains are the best.  Try to speak to the owner or manager.  We can advertise businesses, in many ways, if they agree to pledge for you.   We have a festival brochure, etc.  Be creative………They will help you

Call your relatives in town and away.

Call your parents’ friends.

Call your friends who are not in the band (and their parents).

Call students and/or the families of students who used to be in the band.

Ask your orthodontist, doctor, hair cut person, pizza delivery guy, neighbors.

Walk into businesses in the area and ask if you can leave a pledge form for a day or two.  Just remember to go back and get it !!  Work in groups—it can be fun !!

Ask your parents which kids asked your family to buy Warrior cards, gift wrap paper, Girl Scout cookies, Boy Scout popcorn, etc.  If your parents bought from them, go ask them to pledge for you.  Anybody that you know that sells anything for a fundraiser is a good prospect to pledge for you !!

Ask your parents (nicely) or beg them (profusely) to take pledge forms to their work (if their work says it’s ok).  Sometimes, parents can leave a form in a break room and just remind coworkers to take a look at it.  If your parents’ work doesn’t pan out, ask one of your relatives or friends’ families to take a pledge form to their office.

Be ready to explain the importance of the band program to YOU !!!

Adults are sappy (especially moms).   They love to hear stories of how and why a program, i.e. band, has made a big difference in your life.

Tell the truth and be real.  It always works !!!

We’d love for everyone to pledge $1,000,000.  But, big rewards come in small steps.  $.10 a car or $.20 per car will add up quickly.

Always, always,  say THANK YOU and really mean it.  (Especially when the person says no!!)
