Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band Named Grand Champion 1st Place Band

 

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band, under the direction of Dr. Ed Cannava, was named the Grand Champion 1st Place Band out of 28 competing units, at the October 13, 2007 Douglas County Marching Invitational. Arapahoe scored a season high 85.65 points. The Warrior Band won two caption awards-Best Music and Best Effect. This is the first time in school history that the Arapahoe Band has won 3 competitions by the start of State Championships Week.

 

Arapahoe’s 2007 field show is “¡La Fiesta!” featuring “El Camino Real”, “El Mariachi”, “Intermezzo from Carmen”, España Cani”, and “Fiesta”.  Wind arrangements are by Scott Hickey; Percussion score by Doug Rosener; Visual Design is by Craig Harms, Kenny Bailey, and Dave Hurd; and Costuming by Susan James.

 

The 2007 Warrior Marching Band is led by Drum Majors Eddie Lyon and Lyndsey Sotwick.

 

The Warrior Band’s section leaders include: Emily Haller, Flute; Carissa Pierce, Clarinet; Jaime Liljegren, Alto Saxophone; Chase Piker, Tenor Saxophone; Melanie Brown, Trumpet; Abbe Haller, Mellophone; Alex James, Baritone; Bryce Turner, Sousaphone; Marielle Hendry, Battery Percussion; Michael Hargreaves, Pit Percussion; Nichole Kamps, Color Guard..

 

The Warrior Band’s squad leaders include: Nicole Jensen, Clarinet; and Maureen Kosse, Mellophone.

 

The 2007 Arapahoe Marching Band Staff include: Fred Bowlus, Matt Clarkson, and Lauren Maxwell, Percussion; Kenny Bailey, Roger St. Vincent, Dee Hanes, and Marcus Brown, Color Guard; Dave Hurd Bruce Fox, and Mark Talley, Marching; Fran Piazza, Flute; Heather Davis, Clarinet; Tait Solberg, Saxophone; Missy Steinbock, Trumpet: Ron Torp, Mellophone; and Jeff Craig, Low Brass.
