Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band Named Grand Champion First Place Winner

 

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band, under the direction of Dr. Ed Cannava, placed first at the New Friendship Cup Band Competition on September 22, 2007. There were 20 bands competing, and Arapahoe was named the Grand Champion 1st Place Band of the event. In preliminary competition, the Warrior Band achieved 77.3 points. Two scores were in the box 4, excellent category.  Arapahoe won caption awards in General Effect, Music, and Marching. At the finals competition, the Warrior Band placed first in all three captions, out of twelve competing finalist units. Arapahoe’s finals score was a 77.85. This is the highest early season score in the band’s history.

 

Arapahoe’s 2007 field show is “¡La Fiesta!” featuring “El Camino Real”, “El Mariachi”, “Intermezzo from Carmen”, España Cani”, and “Fiesta”.  Wind arrangements are by Scott Hickey; Percussion score by Doug Rosener; Visual Design is by Craig Harms, Kenny Bailey, and Dave Hurd; and Costuming by Susan James.

 

The 2007 Warrior Marching Band is led by Drum Majors Eddie Lyon and Lyndsey Sotwick.
