Essential Learning:

Using the skills of critical thinking and problem solving, the students will understand the components and concepts of the Wellness Triangle (mental, physical, and social).

Goals for the year:

Continue to develop common assessments

Analyze the common assessments

Share best practices that will ensure student learning

Successes:

Developed 3 common assessments for the fall 09 semester.

Revised some class assignments to improve student understanding and knowledge of the Wellness Triangle.

Teacher collaberation and sharing best practices.

Common Assessment:

Heart Rate Lab sheet:  Students will answer a short answer ? regarding their Resting Heart Rate and Recovery Heart Rate and their relationship to their current fitness needs.

Abstinence: Students will answer 3 short answer ?s on the topic of abstinence. Students will define abstinence. Students will explain how choosing abstinence can affect their mental, physical and social health and how choosing to be sexually active could affect their mental, physical and social health.

CPR: Students will demonstrate their ability to use CPR skills to save an adult victim.
